Tshirt Transfers For Every Personal Style

You can go for tshirt transfers if you want to stand out and have your own personal style instead of purchasing tshirt designs from other companies. Before you begin your tshirt transfer, take a blank t-shirt. You can purchase it in wholesale if you are planning to make a large number of t-shirts. Look for the perfect image for your tshirt transfers and download it on to your computer. Make sure the image is not too pixilated. Also make sure that you are allowed to use the image and that you are not violating any copyrights. You can choose from three different kinds of tshirt transfer paper; iron-on paper for light or white t-shirts, dark or black t-shirts and glitter sheets for party look.

Setting up the printer is important. For HP printers choose Iron on paper, for Epson printers choose plain paper, for Cannon printers choose Iron on/T-shirt paper and for Lexmark printers choose Iron on paper. With most printers, the image should be printed in mirror mode in order o print it the right way on the t-shirt. Use a hot iron on tshirt transfers with a minimum of 1200 w set to the highest temperature. The next step is to place the tshirt onto a hard surface; it could be a work table or any other strong table but not an ironing board as you will have to apply pressure and it could become unstable. The transfer paper will have to be cut around the image but you should make sure that at least 1-2 cm margin is left around the image. Iron the transfer paper all over to fix it on the tshirt and then iron on each part in small circles spending at least 5-10 seconds in each position.

There are some tips to keep in mind during the tshirt transfer process. Always print a preview copy of your image before printing it. This will reduce the chances of your expensive transfer paper being wasted. Keep in mind that the image has to be flipped or mirrored; especially critical if you have text in your design. Make sure that you use the correct side of the transfer paper to print. Keep in mind that white does not print so all the white parts of your design will show as fabric of the tshirt. Before your transfer your design, test it on a similar fabric. The iron should be extremely hot and the surface must be strong and heat resistant. Ironing boards are not recommended because they tend to disperse heat. If you want your transfer design to last for long, iron the tshirt inside out before you wear it so that its design does not burn or wear out.
