Polyester is the type of screen print mesh which can be used in any type of printing. It is durable, flexible and strong and these are the reasons why it is mostly used in all types of printing. When you start working with your own screens then you will also find yourself working with polyester mesh most of the time. However, there are many different types of this mesh available so it is best that you are aware of the different kinds so that you can use them in the best possible way.
The first way you can classify polyester mesh is by their thread type. The threads that are woven are of the monofilament or the multifilament type. Monofilament meshes are the most commonly used as they have a single strand. You can look at work that has been done using this type of mesh to have an idea of what the results look like. Multifilament meshes consist of a number of small strands that are all intertwined amongst each other. If you want to purchase these then you can identify them with the xx on them.
Then next point that you need to consider is the mesh count which is the number of threads per centimeter or per inch of fabric. You will see the thread count on top of the mesh so you can not miss it. The higher the thread count is the better the printing results will be from your machine. Then you need to consider the color of the mesh where you will mostly find white as the main color. You can dye different colors if needed and it is preferred that customers should always use orange or yellow which helps to decrease the reflection from light.
